Game objective
In Scrabble Cubes, your main objective is to achieve the highest score possible within the time limit (usually 4 minutes for a single game). You’ll need to select different faces of letter tiles to make up valid words of at least three letters.
Like traditional Scrabble, each letter is worth a certain number of points added together along with any underlying multipliers when you make a Scrabble word. You can also earn bonus points for creating longer words.
Keep in mind that certain tiles allow you to double or even triple the point value of certain letters and sometimes the entire word itself. This is where your Scrabble skills will be tested. It’s up to you to decide which letters to use for which words to maximize your scores.
To help you get started on a strong footing, I would suggest playing a few classic word games — Words With Friends, Word Finder, Crossword puzzles, Word Search, etc. — to up your skill level and get you familiar with new words that you can create to get higher scores.
Rules
While Scrabble Cubes follows official Scrabble rules, the fact that the gameplay involves cubes and not the traditional Scrabble board can be confusing. Not to worry, playing Scrabble Cubes on WorldWinner should be a breeze once you understand the basics. Let’s do a quick walkthrough of the game rules so you have a better idea of what to expect.
- When connecting letters to create a word, each letter must touch the previous letter tile at an edge or a corner.
- Words can wrap around the side of the cube so long as they are valid Scrabble words.
- Words created must be at least three letters long and no longer than eight letters.
- Players may not use an individual cube face more than once in each word.
- Only words in the official Scrabble dictionary are permitted. Foreign language words, slang, and abbreviations are not allowed.
- Invalid words will be rejected outright. You won’t be docked any points for submitting an invalid word, but remember, you’re on the clock. Every second spent on creating an invalid Scrabble word is time wasted.
Game controls
The game begins with 27 cubes. You can use each cube a max of three times. Using a cube means using its letters to make a word. Once a cube is used up, it is eliminated from the board and replaced with a new cube.
Remove any cube on the board by double tapping it. Swipe right or left to turn the cube so you can see the other sides of the cube and the letters they contain.
There are four main functions on the screen:
- Submit. Use this to submit the word you created on the board.
- Undo. Use this to undo your last action.
- Delete. Use this to clear all the letters from the tray.
- Settings. Use this to access the game settings.
